The Horse in Burgh Haamstede is welded with 5 mm rebar steel and fitted with a white coating. The artwork was part of a large installation with three longships, called 'The power of the Hoge Burgh'. It was commissioned for the 20th anniversary of the Kunstschouw Burgh Haamstede. The artwork was bigger than life size and is referring tot the origins of the Hoge Burgh. The big round space is a high spot in the landscape, where the Zeeland inhabitants found protection against the hostile attacks of the Vikings. Horse and boats made this history palpable.
